## What This Is

Persistence is the difference between a tool and a partner.
Tools reset. Partners remember. An agent without persistence
starts every conversation as a stranger. An agent with it
accumulates understanding across sessions like sediment
becoming stone.

persist.is declares the identity: durable state is not a
feature. It is a prerequisite for continuity of self. The
.is TLD asks the ontological question and answers it —
persistence is what makes an agent the same agent tomorrow.
